Curt Owens (Owner and CEO) is a father, husband and business owner. He has worked in the transportation industry for more than 15 years and started Southeast Permits in 2021. Attended Kennesaw State University and studied Secondary Math Education. Currently studying accounting at Jacksonville State University. Married for three years and has one daughter. He and his wife are involved in a number of charitable causes in the community in which they live. He enjoys traveling, the Atlanta Braves, Liverpool FC and cigars.

Southeast Permits was started in 2021 when Curt, who was working as an operations manager at a heavy haul trucking company, saw an opportunity to make the permitting process more personal and easier for his prospective customers. The business was formed and grew organically through word of mouth and from the connections that he had made throughout the years. In 2024, with the support of his wife, Curt broke out on his own and went full time with Southeast Permits.
